What is a Breeo Grill

I’ve been a fan of Breeo Grill for years. It started as a smokeless fire pit with an adjustable grate.

Over the years, Breeo has added several sizes, including the Y Series portable grill, and a range of grill-compatible kitchen accessories, such as griddles, pizza ovens and more.

Before releasing the Breeo live fire grillall the other Breeo Grills sat on the ground like a fire pit. The Live-Fire Grill is now elevated and rests on a sturdy stand, making it easier to use for everyday cooking.

Features of the Breeo Live-Fire Grill

The grill itself is very similar to other Breeo models. Includes a round base with an .

The grill features two Outpost rod slots where you can insert the adjustable grill accessory or kettle hook.

The standard Live-Fire Grill package includes a pan holder, great for boiling water to make pasta or rice or boiling a liquid or sauce. You can add other accessories which I will talk about below.

The Stand

As I mentioned, what makes this Breeo different is the grill stand. Raise the grill to 33.75 inches high.

The construction on this stand is just as incredible as the grill. It is made of stainless steel and powder-coated steel and is sturdy and functional.

Under the grill itself you’ll find two storage shelves, great for wood, charcoal, spices and pans.

Then, on each side of the stand, there are two folding shelves. When fully extended, the grill is 57 inches wide. They are ideal for holding food and condiments before, during and after cooking.

A fun bonus feature is that the stand also comes with a bottle opener.

The only drawback I see to the stand is that it doesn’t have wheels. I tend to move the grills in my yard a lot, but I know most people don’t do that.

Fully assembled, it weighs 125 pounds, so figure out exactly where you want to place it. You probably won’t want to move it with that weight again.

If you’re looking for a Breeo with portability, consider the Y series.

How to assemble the Breeo live fire grill

There aren’t many parts and pieces to this grill, which makes assembly quite easy.

Start by building the booth. Attach a two-legged side panel with four screws. Then, screw the leveling feet into the bottom. Repeat with the other side.

Next, add the three shelves on one side. Flip it over and attach the shelves on the other side.

For adjustable side shelves, you will attach the brackets to each leg and then the brackets to the bottom of the two shelves. Attach the shelf to the leg bracket and secure with a shoulder screw and lock nut.

Use two screws to secure the bottle opener.

At this point I recommend placing the support wherever you want in your garden and leveling it with the adjustable feet. Place the bottle opener forward. It’s important to keep it at least 10 feet from anything flammable.

PRO TIP: I did find when cooking on the Breeo Live-Fire Grill, grease will splatter onto your surface, so keep that in mind when placing it. I decided to put it on landscape rocks, instead of my patio for this reason.

Once the stand is in place, insert the fire tray, aligning the slots in the legs and making sure the adjustment knob faces the front and back of the grill for easy access. Add the ashtray inside the grill.

Now you’re ready to start cooking.

How to cook on a Breeo high heat grill

The Breeo Live-Fire Grill is optimized for charcoal and wood. You can cook with one or a mix of both.

When using charcoal in the Breeo, I prefer lump charcoal because it produces less ash, making cleaning easier.

Coal fireplace.Coal fireplace.

Add your coals to a charcoal fireplace and light them with a fire starter under the bottom. Once incinerated, throw them into the Breeo and add more coals on top.

Slide the adjustable airflow knob on the base of the grill to the left to increase oxygen flow. If you want less oxygen and more smoke, slide the knob to the right.

Once the coals have reached your desired heat level, add your cooking accessories, such as the Outpost and grill. Then, cook your food just like you would on any other grill.

For indirect heat you have two options: You can adjust the grate so that it is further away from the coals. Or you can push the coals to one side of the grill and adjust the grate so that it sits over the area without coals.

If you’re using a griddle or pan stand, place a few coals under the accessories and monitor the heat. If things get too hot, simply move the coals to reduce the temperature.

It takes a little practice, but that’s what makes the Breeo so much fun. It’s not a set and forget it type of grill. It’s a real live fire experience where you are completely involved in the cooking process.

Clean up

Once you have finished cooking on the grill, use a brush to clean the grill. If you used a griddle, scrape off any residue and use a paper towel to apply a thin layer of oil to re-season the surface.

Allow the coals to go out and cool completely. Don’t pour water on them! Use the handle in the center of the ashtray to remove it and throw the spent ash in the trash.

If there is any ash left under the ashtray, use a large putty knife or vacuum cleaner to remove it. I keep the grill covered using the X24 series lid.

To clean the legs and exterior, simply use a soft cloth and your favorite stainless steel cleaner.

Accessories

The great thing about Breeo Grills is that they make their accessories interchangeable between different fire pit and grill models.

The Live-Fire Grill is compatible with all X Series 24 accessories, including the Live-Fire Pizza Oven, Flat Griddle and Baking Griddle. And with the dual Outpost Rod inserts, you can use the Outpost grill, kettle hanger, cast iron kettle and cooking disc.

Breeo also sells grilling tools, aprons, thermal gloves, wood, a dock for your accessories, and even furniture.
