Hi {{subscriber.first_name}},

I hope you enjoyed the eclipse. I was disappointed, thinking we would have more darkness here in Rhode Island, but that wasn’t the case. However the lighting was a little strange. I’m not going to lie, but I had severe FOMO (fear of missing out). The only child in me was rearing its selfish head. haha I’m going to New York this weekend to meet some friends, Sandra of A pinch of sanityand Rebecca’s Gourmet with family, while their children perform in a ballet competition. I’m looking forward to a few days away, spending some time with them and watching the shows. We’ve had a lot of rain, but the offerings are finally on the trees, the daffodils are in bloom, and it’s getting a little warmer, which is good because next week my 7:30am boot camp class moves outdoors until in November! we might just freeze our butts off in the next few weeks, but it’ll probably make us move faster to warm up. I hope you have a great weekend and a great week. Hugs! Lynne

Favorite product of the week:

I bought it recently Cuisinart defrost tray. I can never remember to take stuff out of the freezer the night before I want to use it, and sometimes I don’t soak it in cold water with enough time to thaw it the same day. So, I saw this defrost tray on Amazon and I have to say I like it so far. It’s compact, easy to clean, and the pound of ground beef I put in it thawed in about an hour and a half, in its plastic on the kitchen counter. For me, it could very well be a game changer in my meal planning
or lack thereof. LOL I was asked to partner with a company that has a product that recycles cold water as it defrosts something so you never have to worry about changing it, but they charge you $400! I told them no because I know you may be on a budget. Honestly, if I wouldn’t pay this much for something in my kitchen, I definitely would Not I’ll promote it and say you should!

How can I reverse the damage of seasoning on my plate? Have you added too much salt, sweetness or spice to your dish and are worried that it might be too much? Before you give up and throw it away, try adding an ingredient to make up for it. Too much salt? Add an acid or sweetener. Too much sweetener? Balance it with an acid. If you find there are too many spices or acids, use a fat or sweetener to compensate for them.

I’d love to hear all your tips and what has helped you be more efficient and organized in the kitchen! If you’re interested in sharing them with all of us, and if I choose to share them in our newsletter, I’ll give you a shoutout by name! ❀
