We all need comfort foods these days, right?
Carbohydrates are my ultimate comfort food. Maybe you’ve figured it out by now if you’ve been following me for a while.
However, comfort food carbs that require minimal effort to prepare are really at the top of my list right now. Anything I can do in under 30 minutes is a win.
Which means I’m making a lot of Bisquick cookies.
Soon? Check. Easy? Check. Satisfy my carb cravings? Check, check, check.
Easy Bisquick Drop Cookies
When I shared my homemade Bisquick mix with you, I promised that it could be used to make all your favorite Bisquick recipes.
We’ve made Bisquick pancakes, Bisquick muffins, and even Bisquick breakfast casserole. And now these very simple Bisquick muffins.
Bisquick Drop Cookies are a great first recipe to make with young children. With only two ingredients required – Bisquick mix and milk – these cookies are so easy, anyone can make them.
I love making these easy biscuits on nights when we enjoy recipes like Broccoli Cheese Soup or Guinness Stew. Since they only take a few minutes to prepare, they’re a quick fix if you forgot to buy a loaf of crusty bread or don’t want to make garlic rolls or knots to accompany the soup.
You can also serve them with butter and jam or apple butter or a comforting sausage gravy if you want to make them for brunch. Or top them with whipped cherry butter for a holiday dinner!

How to make Bisquick biscuits
As mentioned before, the only ingredients required for these simple biscuits are:
- 2 1/4 cups Bisquick mix
- 2/3 cup milk
I almost always have my homemade Bisquick mix on hand, so it’s my go-to for this recipe. But if you keep store-bought Bisquick on hand, it works great.
You can also use any milk you prefer. Since both homemade and store-bought Bisquick contain no dairy, feel free to use your favorite dairy-free milk alternative if you’d like.
To prepare the biscuits, follow these 3 simple steps:
- Mix Bisquick mix and milk. The dough will be soft and sticky!
- Drop cookie dough by spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 450℉ until golden brown (8-10 minutes)!
With such minimal prep before going into the oven, I bet you could get fresh cookies out of the oven within 15 minutes!
Recipe variations and other flavors
The recipe in the card below makes the most classic Bisquick drop biscuits. But you can only consider it a starting point.
It’s easy to add extra flavor to these cookies by adding herbs, spices, and mixes.
For a super easy flavor boost, brush warm biscuits with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven. Make it with garlic butter if you feel like it.
Try mixing in some mix-ins when mixing the dough together. Some ideas include:
- ¼ to ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped chives
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- ¼ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2 ounces crumbled goat or feta cheese
- Several grinds of fresh black pepper
You could even mix and match some of these options to create your favorite cookie flavor! Combining the cheese in the biscuit with garlic butter and parsley on top is like getting everyone’s favorite Red lobster biscuits.
Just be careful not to add too many mix-ins or the dough may not come together.
7UP cookies are another variation of Bisquick cookies, using ingredients like 7UP (or Sprite) and sour cream to create a light, fluffy cookie.
Whether you’re looking for a quick side dish for your dinner table or a breakfast option to make while you’re half asleep, these Bisquick Cookies are sure to hit the spot!
