How to make layered taco sauce
Making taco sauce hardly gets easier!
- First, prepare a 9-inch cake pan by spraying it with nonstick cooking spray. Then heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Next, add a drizzle of olive oil to a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until the meat crumbles and falls apart. Drain excess fat. Pour in taco seasoning (homemade or store-bought) and water and simmer for at least 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom of a pie pan. Then cover it completely with taco meat.
- Next, spread sour cream over the meat. Top the sour cream layer with shredded taco cheese.
- Then cook everything until the cheese is gooey and melted. It takes about 15 minutes for everything to heat up.
Serve garnished with diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños and plenty of tortilla chips for dipping. So good!
