Want all your favorite breakfast dishes in one perfectly wrapped tortilla? I have no doubt that you will love this delicious and hearty Breakfast Burrito which is, of course, perfect for your first meal, but also for mid-day and late-night eating! But this isn’t your average breakfast burrito. It’s tailor-made for the Filipino palate with an irresistibly meaty sweetness in the tocino!
What does a breakfast burrito taste like?
You can expect many of the beloved flavors that accompany burritos in this recipe. We get a buttery, flavorful interior from our eggs, cheddar cheese, and some lettuce and tomatoes for some fun textures. But as I said before, you get a satisfying tinge of sweetness and tenderness in our Funtastyk CDO Young Pork Tocino.
But in order not to give off an excessively sweet taste, we have many other seasonings to balance the flavors. You’ll taste a hint of acidity in white vinegar and a creamy quality in fresh milk.
Ingredients in the Breakfast Burrito
CDO Funtastyk young pork belly
We really want the meat to be smooth, tender and really easy to cook, so we opt for Tocino CDO Funtastyk young pork. In particular, we will need 225 grams of this.
Rice
And since a burrito is basically an entire meal wrapped in tortilla, we’ll obviously want some rice in the mix, too. Prepare 2 ½ cups cooked rice for the recipe
Egg
Is a breakfast without scrambled eggs really creamy and satisfying? Enough 3 of these on the side.
Cheddar cheese
And let’s throw in some cheese too! This helps create a milky, delicious interior of the burrito that works perfectly with the flavor of the eggs and tocino.
Flour tortilla
Make sure you have too 4 flour tortillas ready for it. I love this type of tortilla because it can have a really soft texture that is very satisfying with every bite. But the main reason we chose it is because it can hold a lot more fillings due to its sturdiness. Many burrito recipes definitely opt for this specific type of tortilla.
Romaine lettuce
Also get some romaine lettuce, which we will have to chop. We will use 1 ½ cups of this.
Tomatoes
To add lycopene and vitamin C to our diet, let’s get them too 3 tomatoes. Cut them accordingly.
Fresh milk
We simply won’t need much fresh milk for our burrito 2 tbsp.
Butter
Set aside 2 tablespoons butter for our scrambled eggs later.
White vinegar
And last but not least, you will need it 1 teaspoon white vinegar.
How to make a breakfast burrito
1. Cooking the tocino
- Heat the oil – Pour 3 tablespoons of cooking oil into the pan. Apply a little heat, and once it gets hot enough, you can set the stove to low to medium.
- Fry the tocino – Add your Funtastyk CDO young pork tocino and fry it. You can flip each piece to the other side once it is browned enough. You can then remove the meat from the pan and cut it into small pieces.
2. Prepare the scrambled eggs
- Mix together the eggs and fresh milk – After placing both ingredients in a bowl, whisk them together. You’ll know you’re done once you have a nice smooth mixture.
- Melt the butter – Now you should take a clean pan and put the butter in it. Heat the pan until all the butter has melted and is quite hot.
- Cooking the egg mixture – You should incorporate the egg and milk mix from before into the pan. Then continuously stir everything in the pan as you cook.
- Adding the Cheese – We’ll be keeping an eye on the eggs as we cook, so when you notice the eggs becoming a little firmer and less runny, it should be time to stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Then mix the mixture and put it on a clean plate.
3. Prepare the rice
- Adding Vinegar – Take the rice and then pour all the white vinegar over it. Then mix them together.
4. Assemble the burrito
- Placing the Ingredients on the Tortilla – Let’s start with the rice, which we will sprinkle all over our flour tortilla. Then we will cover it with our lettuce, tomato, cheese and our cooked eggs and the Funtastyk CDO young pork Tocino from before. Don’t put too many of these components on the tortilla to prevent them from falling off.
- Roll the tortilla – Then you should turn it into a wrap. Make sure everything is secure. Repeat the process for the other three tortillas and then you’re done! Simply place the deliciously meaty breakfast burritos on a serving plate of your choice.
