In this video I’ll show you how to make a delicious and comforting Chinese Shrimp Ball Soup that’s perfect for all seasons. The tender shrimp balls are light, tasty and slow cooked in the shrimp broth that I will prepare with the shrimp shells. A half pound of shrimp (51/60) only costs about $3. This simple, economical and at the same time hearty soup will warm you up, perfect for both lunch and dinner. Enjoy!

Written Recipe for Chinese Shrimp Ball Soup:
Ingredients:
1/2 pound shrimp, shelled and shelled (reserve shells) and cut into a paste
salt
white pepper powder
1 egg white
2 teaspoons corn or potato starch
2 green onions (separate the white part from the green part)
oil
3 1/2 cups cold water
handful of spinach leaves
sesame oil
To prepare the shrimp mix:
Add salt, white pepper and egg white and mix well. Add the starch and incorporate.
1. Heat the pan over high heat, fry the white part of the green onions and add the shrimp shells. Fry together until the shells are pink,
2. Add water and bring to a boil.
3. Once the water boils, lower the heat and simmer for about 8 minutes.
4. Remove the shells. Add a little salt to the broth.
5. Prepare prawn balls by scooping the mixture (with a teaspoon).
6. Allow the shrimp balls to solidify, then mix gently. Cook for about 3 minutes.
7. Add the spinach and cook for about 10 seconds. Drizzle some sesame oil and garnish with green onions. Serve!
